I cruised along to the NZ van nats, was a good day. Bumped into some old friends, some I hadn't seen for (we worked it out) 30 years ago.

Was good to see some other customs, ie mini van and morrie van (although not custom). Not sure what the 2 jap vans were doing among them, or the ute or dodge s/w.

Peoples choice was a bit tricky as the vans were either showroom finished (mostly inside) or unfinished (all outside). I actually walked around 3 times (wasn't hard as was very cramped) to try pick my favorite. I wont tell you who I voted for but voted for someone who had done some mods while not throwing a bucket of money at it.

Lots of chev and dodge vans cruising past the show (in the morning at least), which was held in a holden car dealership

I counted about 4 vanners there I had supplied bedford parts to, does that make me a dealer haha.

Would love to hear from some folks who had their vans there, am sure they would of had a blast over the long weekend
There are so many people out there who will tell you that you can't. What you've got to do is turn around and say "watch me"

Well what an awesome weekend. Bloody hard work both leading up to and over the weekend for our club as hosts but an awesome result. Great to catch up again Dave. Hope to see you with your van at the next one ;D ;D. A few new vans there that hadn't been seen at a Nationals before and a number of new members picked up by at least 2 clubs. The show was a huge success and created a lot of interest, especially being in the main street of town. We had a number of day show participants there as well as those entered for the whole weekend. Bas, I didn't see you there so don't know if you made it down but if you did, sorry I missed you.

Winner of day participants trophy was the blue EH Holden panel of Barry Wood.
Big winner from the show was Jeff Berry's CF which took a number of trophies including Best Big Van, Best Big Van Interior, Peoples Choice, Vanners Choice and Supervan. Well done Jeff, well deserved mate. Robert Pirika's Dodge, Spellbound took out Best Paint, Best Light Show, 2nd Best Big Van and 2nd Best Big Van Interior.

To all those who attended I hope you had a great time and look forward to seeing you all in Blenheim next Easter for the 40th NZ Nationals.
