Hi Sammy, for the price it has a lot to offer. And the beauty of it is, if you turn off the loop feature and carry 2 or 3,  32gb cards you could record your whole trip and never loose a second. For insurance purposes, i recon your mad if you don't have a camera these days. On the flip side, the number of bedfords i have filmed while driving is crazy, and i post them all on here.
As for race cars, on my dune buggy i use the tiny little go-pro cameras. They are small, waterproof cases, again 32gb cards and about an hour of power time. I have a few of them mounted to my buggy, so when the grand kids are in the buggy screaming and laughing i get it all on video. I can also mount them to record the engine or suspension to see what is really going on when you are going full throttle. And trust me, i open it up and love the speed.

yeah I have a gopro in my race car too, its great for getting all the gauges and such for reviewing later :) also something that might interest you, I have purchased a usb to 12v adaptor for my race car, means the gopro charges when im racing so I don't have that 1-1.5 hr limitation!

and the best bit, it was like $5 delivered! just wire into a switch or ignition and your good to go!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!
