Craig grew up in the country, moving around a bit with his parents work.
He was in Perenjori, Laverton and Nyabing during his high school days.
He was a very accomplished footballer who drew notice from a number of WAFL teams in his early days before a number of injuries curtailed his chances.
His brother was always into cars in particular vans and Craig often was drafted into wash and clean club members vehicles. He also began to show some aptitude in modifying and repairing vehicles of his own.
He had a succession of cars from a hot(orange) EH sedan which never ran well to a number of LH toranas and even a trio of Chrysler Royals. His first Van was an Escort which he painted "Coke Cola" red, a rare color for a van and then emblazoned with murals and full on velvet and mirror interior. The van was a consistent winner in many classes and was often mentioned among the best in Perth.
However being around big brothers bedford club meant it wasn't long before the bug bit. In a deal of the century Craig swapped his escort for a freshly painted bright blue bedford van owned by his brother. It was the beginning of a long and fruit full partnership that has yielded many a custom bedford from his garage.
Whilst his skill with bedfords is to be admired his ability to draw others in to the bedford hobby should never be ignored.
His leadership skills have seen him start and run a number of Van Clubs giving many the opportunity to enjoy the sport. He has held many positions over the years including
President, secretary, treasurer and news editor as well as a stint on the WA van council.
His current project is the resurrection of an old east coast van which has been taken back to bare metal and will involve some restoration with a new custom front.
Under the watchful idea of his partner Jill(Jillybean) this promises to be a nice van when finished hopefully for the 2010 Van nationals.
