also mezzmo make sure you have your wire feed at the right speed.

hey marty, mate your going to need a resort holiday if you keep going at that pace.  ;D marty, i like the look of your bonnet, are they mesh, do you have a closer pic of what you have done. Love all these different ideas, great imagination out there in beddy world.

hey Mezz,
its ususlly a dirty surface or wire speed to fast that causes splatter for me,
i generally use new steel or clean all rust off and have no problems.

2 slow and the wire melts back 2 the tip, 2 fast and it splatters like a scolded cat.
next time u weld get a friend to operate the wire speed  control, get them 2 turn it down till u get a nice flow without splatter, then remember that setting.

George they are steel  vents like on a locker in a cloak room.
helps the hot air escape and also helps keep the windscreen from fogging up in winter.
ie/ u know how in winter when u turn the heater on and because outside is cold and inside gets hot= causes windscreen 2 fog on the inside.

those vents direct hot air from the engine bay onto the outside of the screen because by the time the radiator water is hot enough 2 heat the inside its hot enough for air going through the radiator 2 be directed out those vents onto the outside of the windscreen.

put a new water pump on the 350 on wednesday, started fitting the new extractors for the race car thursday, loaded up the car on firday, drove down to Collie for the race weekend saturday.
We had changed so many things for the car plus the driver had never driven on the track, so we didn't quite get the results we were after for the weekend, but 4th or 5th overall isn't bad.. just not the 1st over all we got with another driver in our car from last time.. fortunately no one got within a second of our track record from last time, so it still stands.

The Bedford drove beautifully all the way there and back, and i managed to lock the brakes and go into a 4 wheel slide down hill with a 'heavy as f***' trailer on the back, that was quite enjoyable.. up there as a highlight of the weekend ;) I'm tempted to do it again...
But yeah, flawless for a 450-500km round trip so im pretty happy, i was speeding too much so fuel economy wasn't all that good, but not too bad either. An overdrive 4th or even better a 6 speed would be great for a long haul.

Slept in the van last night, was quite comfortable, but i'll be re-engineering the interior to improve things for next time. We thought it'd be hell cold, so we took 4 blankets, but Nancy tore 2 of them off half way thru the night, she was too hot. I tell her that all the time, but it takes 4 blankets for her to understand..  ;D
The amp miraculously started working again yesterday, so now i can enjoy tunes again - properly.

Good weekend allround!!
