gday guys well ive been on this and the old site for a while now since having my beddy, its been great reading this thread and about all the different beddy nuts!
so this is the first chance ive had to write an intro,(usually my girlfriend hogs the computer!)
my names luke, im 34, a landscaper by trade but trying to get into carpentry for something different and to learn to build my own house one day . i spent 3 seasons at mt buller snowboarding, then went to canada to continue, then to london and on to france for 5 years! met my lovely german girlfriend over there and she came back and we saved for 6 months in melbs then travelled round oz for a year in our beloved beddy!
i first got into beddies on a holiday to byron years ago, all these surfer mates, were cruisin from ballina to byron to go surfing and i thought it was sooo cool!
my first beddy was in london, it was a camper with a fridge, cooker and sink etc. i bought it off a mate for 200 quid who had just been around europe in it. i got as far as luton airport (about 1 hour or so away!) before the diff went and we got stuck just before xmas. bussed it back to london, then went back in the new year and limped it back with crazy crunching noises coming fromn the rear! dont know how i made it back!
 it was at this time i got the job in france so the van sat in an alleyway in london for a year before it got towed away, i never even got to see it again!
on coming back to oz i knew i wanted one and bought the first one i saw, well i didnt see it it was in sydney! went up to drive it home but the tranny was gone so put it on a truck to get it back. also the guy didnt tell me about the prang it had had on the drivers side front that wasnt in the photo . spent the 6 months before the trip fixing it up and spending heaps on it to get it ready.
the only dramas i had were overheating in adelaide on a scorcher so got a 3 core radiator, and went through a crazy dust storm out of ayres rock which stuffed my dizzy and wheel bearings. besides that it cruised quite nicely
i love my beddy and doubt i will ever sell it, unless i had the money and found one with no rust! (yeah right!)
its so good to see other beddies on the road and give them the big thumbs up
and i think we are definitely in a wicked class of our own which makes it all the more special! whod want to drive a crummydoor?  (sorry to all u commodore drivers, dont get me wrong im a holden freak but love things a bit different...)
my other love is hr's ive had 3 utes and 2 sedans, did up one ute from ground up but sold it to go overseas and im still spewin about it!
im also into dirtbikes ans cant wait till it rains so i can go for a ride
im def. going to the van show so hope to meet all those going and have a blast!!!

Hi All,
My Name is Nathan but all my mates call me Nathro, so feel free. I'm 24, live in sunny Canberra with my girlfriend and work as a Software Analyst for the government (but no, im not a public servant  ). Previous to that i was a Weapons Electronic Engineering Officer (trainee) in the Navy. So if there are any pussers around, say hi. Oh, i am also completing a degree by correspondence.

I currently own 4 cars. My daily driver is a purple BA XR6 falcon, i have a 74 LH SL/R 4200 torana as a project, a 74 LJ GTR Torana as a project and my beloved 1980 CFS Bedford which is in the middle stages of being reborn.

I bought my beddy in october 2004 without knowing anything about bedfords (hadnt even heard the name). I saw it in a carpark and immidiately decided i HAD to have have it so i left a note under the window wiper. after no phone call for a couple of weeks i tracked the guy down and called him. By the end of the day i had bought it for $800. It was a 202 auto that ran very rough, but it had almost no rust, the doors all opened/closed well, and it had the front air dam and flared arches. I was a very happy boy.

Anyways, enough about that. I am a soccer (football) nut and will talk about it for hours to anyone willing to listen. Apart from work, uni, soccer and spending time with 'the wife' most of my spare time is spent working on my beddy. All my mates think im nuts because i have been stripping the beddy right back and doing things that they think are pointless (like last month where i sanded and spraypainted the chassis). Personally i want to make my beddy as good as possible and i thoroughly enjoy spending time working on it so i dont see a problem.

My ultimate goal is to win a trophy at some form of car show for my Bedford. That may not seem like such a challenge in itself, but i have limited myself to $10K to build the van which makes it a bit harder.

The van hasnt seen the inside of a mechanics since i bought it (and it never will). I have no formal trade experience but i have learnt what i know from reading and doing it.

Thats about all i can think of (and likely is about all you want to read) so that'll do me.

Hi guys. Kevin from Perth, just bought a Beddie 2 ton truck, 202 and auto with duals.
Freshly painted so not sure what the paint hides, but seems quite sound and motors along very well.
Got it off a guy who hadn't had it for long so it may have circulated and be known to some of you Pth owners.
No immediate plans for it, just keep it on the road I guess.

Personal note, upholsterer fast approaching retirement age, most of my work these days is done out of my factory in Indo.
Thinking about restoring and importing Kombi's but thats off topic. Dano do I know you?? (Grace and Dave?)

Be nice to catch up with other owners sometime.

Hi All. Thought I would just quickly introduce myself. Jackie and I arrived in New Zealand earlier this year and have made Auckland our new home. We had to leave our blue CF2 back in the old country. We had restored it ourselves over a five year period and it broke our hearts to see it go. On arriving in NZ we bought a '96 Ford Econovan and spent a month touring the North Island before settling in Auckland. I had resigned myself to the idea of owning some modern metal and never dreamed that we would have the chance to own another Bedford until a few days ago when I spotted a very original looking CF1 on Trademe. We bought the van sight unseen (for better or worse) and I can't wait to get it home. So the Bedford dream lives on.

Welcome to the site Gordon  (and Jackie) . Yes there are still a few CFs on the roads. They seem to come out in the summer as people use them for holidays.
If you bought that white SWB with the sunroof......looks like a good original van.
