Here's a couple of a Levin convoy. The white van in the bottom photo is mine just as I was starting to modify it from the standard van I purchased it as.

hey Rogue, some classic photos there!
I love the wooden barrel chairs, the batmobile lights on the silver one, and the trailer..
You fellas better keep your SWBs locked up, as i could do with a trailer... ;D

well done Rouge, those were the days back when the beddy was the most popular van to do up and just about everyone made a custom interior. And intricately detailed ones at that, bring back deep buttoning and turned posts.

I only had the pleasure of seeing some of these vans in the flesh, as these pictured are from 1990 and 1991 and I entered the vanning scene in 1992. I know the whereabouts of only a few. The purple van with the pink and white z stripes is still on the road and living in your hood Rouge, it is now called "Nightvision" and painted blue. The trailer was in our club for many years and was sold in the mid to late 90's and moved to Nelson. A few years ago I caught up with its Nelson owner who had just sold it for about $100. One of our members said he is trying to buy it as it is back down here in Christchurch now, is expecting to pick it up for $150. The shortened black van with the blue stripe, its shell is living not far from where I live, however cancer has got the better of it and I dont think it will ever get rebuilt. Moonshine hawler was a few years ago being stripped back to bare metal by a guy in the north island as cancer had got a hold of it in a big way. About 3 years ago I talked to a young guy who'd bought it and was going to rebuild it and it is now down here in Christchurch also.

Anyhow great to go down memory lane back to the bedford heydays.

Cheers Jeff
Just customize it!

Thanks for that update Jeff. I did suspect that about Nightvision. I think he had a picture of it in its former glory in his display at the Wellington show last year. That's a pity about the short Bedford. There's another pic of it in this last lot of snaps. Moonshine Hauler was a beautiful van in its time. It's always sad when the rust gets the better of them.

Anyway here are the last of the photos I have for you guys. You've sucked me dry so enjoy! These were from one of the first shows I attended and I think it was in Levin again with Lakeview Vans. One of their 'Freeze Inns'.
