I'm a little concerned.
There is a wealth of information on the old site. Is it going to be saved?
Also does Colin (CF-UK) know what is going on?
When he finds out that we have abandoned the site, he may pull the plug on it.
Funny old life.

Jeff I have emailed Colin and asked that our databases be forwarded to us and also we were moving the site.

I have not had a reply or received the database. If you have any better way to contact him that would be great.

This is a mitigating factor as to why we moved. Backup admin is basically non existing as we are just a little side show. Our members deserve better and I think we have provided that. Colin's services did BUGA well but for us to grow we must be able to change at will not when someone gets round to it. ShaneJ has done a magnificent job getting the site up and running. He is around to fix any problems that have occurred ASAP.

I too would hate to see the loss of our databases but we have no control over what happens to them, unfortunately

Craig.

I'm waiting to get a copy of the database so I can install the funk software on this site and keep it running here for all the information.

Craig

Colin's service was great in allowing BUGA to get up and running. His generosity in allowing BUGA to co exist on his server was a great benefit to us.

I hope Colin visits this new site, I have sent an invitation. I dont want to intentionally or unintentionally sour our relationship with our UK Bedford friends at all. They are more than welcome to register as members here also, just as it has always been.

But in all fairness communication is a two way thing. What more can I do if my emails are not answered??

I was not criticising.
I have no better way of contacting Colin than you do, and you appear to be doing everything possable for the smooth transition .....Thank you.
I also understand the need for the site to be controlled, and this was not happening.
Colin is very busy and extraordinarily difficult to contact, and CF-UK has similar problems that we had with the old site.
I'm grateful to Colin for both sites, but do see the need to improve.
Funny old life.

No problems Jeff. It's just frustrating when we cant get our databases. I hope that Colin doesn't lose them.

Control is not what I would like to say more managed. We have a great team of Moderators, including you, that are committed to providing our members with the best service we can.

Our UK friends can contact ShaneJ as he maybe able to point them to the software we are now using. I personally think its easier to use than the old software.

As soon as we get the databases Shane will incorporate them into our site. I suppose in the meantime we just have to wait for Colin to get in contact??

Craig
