BTW, here is a closeup of the seat pedestal, I think I'm gonna get them off and check/clean up the floor panel/base plate.

They're good and solid and the seatbelt is anchored to the floor so I can srr there being a problem, When I get the out I will have a closer look at how they go together and post up here if you like.

In the mean time we have been working on the interior some more, I reproduced the side cabinet behind the passenger seat.

Ruth got on with making copies of the door cards, the old ones are covered in woolen fabric fitted by the conversion firm, it is past its best and very dated.

Under the  old wollen fabric was the original 80 covering looking like new.

Newly made card

Kittah likes the stack of cushions we put in the lounge for a while..

WOW, its been a while since my last post here, The van has served us proud, we have used it a fair bit and put 20,000 miles on her since we found her. The paint took a battering and rust started to appear in certain areas (bottom of windscreen and steps) the tyres banged on the arch flares every now and again.

So after 5 years of British weather the Van is back in the workshop for a tart up.  It started of as "just a tidy of below the belt line and rust" and developed into a full respray, I ended up cutting off the front arches altogether and made new ones which allow a bit more clearance and flare out more than the first ones, they are also a bit bigger at the rear of the front tyres to make them more effective.  I've been working on it since late december doing all I can to prep it for the paint job, going mad with jenoilte and 2 part primer, now its in the hands of the experts and just gone into primer today (pics tomorrow)

I've hit on a major stumbling block in the form of the window seals on the front doors. I contacted a company that make seals and sent them some samples of the remains of the seals I have but alas, they contacted me today and told me they can't help unless I want to order 1000's of metres of seals. Is there anywhere in the world that can supply the seals I need?

ps....

In the mean time since my last posts here I got back into Volvos with the purchase of this 1991 240, complete with B230ft 2.3 turbo) engine, lowered, chipped etc.

Decided that a Volvo B230e engine will be nice in the bedford, almost double the power of the CIH in it at the moment, coupled with a 4 speed autobox should make for good cruising speed, already purchased an engine and box for only £150, currently overhauling engine, to be fitted next winter.
