V8 Registration
« on: March 06, 2018, 09:49:13 AM »
Hi,
I'm wondering what the current RTA (or whatever this week's title is) in NSW for registering a V8 powered Beddy?

One Post has it that it's an RTA no go - even with engineers certs! Can this be correct?

There are some very affordable LS1 set ups available. Is it a pointless build, however?

Ahhh I think they may have recently changed the requirements...best to talk with an engineer...he should be in the know....or go to the RMS website
...but they seem to be tightening up on older vechiles mods....
I'll have a look on Facebook...I think there was a discussion a few months back....
Cheers Wendy & Ray

Thanks Wendy & Ray. Spoke with a vehicle modification builder who works closely with an engineer. Rego should'nt be a prob as long as the engine is not older than the vehicle & the correct modification gear used.

Although still a bit gun-shy of the RTA rules (who really knows what they are?)I have gone ahead & put a deposit down on a CFS with LS1/ T700 - not a bad van (a bit lost in the '70's, perhaps) but with modern hot rod running gear.

I'll keep you posted with the engineer report process
