yeah if you want to keep the same bedford stud pattern a diff center chop is the way to go.

with my set up i can get a top speed of 110-112 kmh  maxed out on the flat.

Thanks for the info mate - that's all the speed I need - Seems like the easiest way and not have to deal with disc break conversion for the front end.

I have a 3.5:1 diff in my traytop and in theory, pulls 3000 rpm for 105 km/hr. Well under max RPM.....

Would you believe from a CF in a wrecking yard. Duel wheels and all. :)
It's a chev 12 bolt.

But I do have a diff out of another van that donated parts for my restoration... single wheel B/W 3.23 diff- I think.  Tag on it said it was out of a Valiant CL??? would drop another 200 rpm @ 100
Happy to sell for the right price.. and that isn't too high.
Have a side door and pair of rear doors as well....
Located in Adelaide.....

yea the nice thing with the Holden center is the gear ratios are a lot so you can mix and mach to what you want.. i think mine is 3.08 : 1 was out of an HQ i think. and a lot of them around. i also have a 5 speed Holden box but the 4 speed seems ok for me.

im having a ford 9inch fitted at the moment with a 3.0 ratio centre as the one I had was very a bodgy set up and the ratio was 2.75 which was just a touch to tall , I should get pinky back next week and am very interested to see what difference it makes as 100kph was 1500 revs with the auto lock up switch on, should have a bit more go and still get reasonable economy

thanks fellas - the fog is clearing - I really appreciate the input...

I can get my head around everything else but the diff had me stumped...I'm sure I had a diff from a hq in my old one..but my memory of it is to fuzzy.......but I remember it was narrow and I had to have the wheels reversed to get it looking right - and I ended up with two spare wheels,  which I don't want  trying to get it right this time around...

Rumax I think Adelaide is a bit to far from Huskisson - seems everyone is a long way from Huskisson..
