had it all working until sparks... Nothing!
« on: March 23, 2014, 07:08:17 PM »
My indicator stalk... (It that what it's called? arm?) Snapped off. I did my research and successfully wired up a temporary switch for my indicators and a separate button for my horn. I am a God! Sweet success...

Having never done anything like this before. To mount it into my dash I had to remove the ignition to drill some holes,  putting the ignition back and some exposed wires hit the metal dash. *×+ SPRRKS  +×* & no power to anything anymore. Apparently I am not a God!

Okay what have I done and what now? My fuses under my dash look fine but where do I find those other fuses?
Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean other fuses.... there are none.
Next time, disconnect the battery.  ;D ;D ;D. Ever heard of being wise after the event!
Sorry, I am being cruel.
Being as old as they are, our vans/trucks are heavily modified and a factory wiring set-up is rare. Best advice is to check where you have power to. Fuses may look good, but may be blown. Use a test globe if you don't have a volt metre. But most of all DON'T PANIC. There is a full wiring diagram on the site with all colour codes.

Br grateful, others here have nearly burnt their vans to the ground courtesy of a short.

Also update your address details... there may be a local BUGA member who could help.
Cheers, welcome & good luck
Russell

newer bedfords have a fuse box just under the dash on the right hand side tucked up and away.....older bedfords have inline fuses and no fuse box to speak of.

Thanks guys. And yes I feel wiser now. Off to buy my first volt meter then to YouTube to find out how to use the thing.
Such a Newbe!     The fun begins.
