back seat belts

does anyone know if you can use lap belts with the back seat..or do you have to use piller with qld reg....

Not sure if this helps but in NSW you need to use pillar for the outer seats, can only use lap for middle seat.
I'm pretty sure it would be the same Australian standard for all states but not 100%

yeh i was pulled up on a roadworthy for having on ly lap seatbelt in the back..

i just pulled the seat out for the roady.. put it back in afterward..

Hi Arron, not exactly sure about here in QLD, it seems that Qld is a country of their own , they have different Australian Design rules to the rest of Australia  . When I had the Chev engineered in QLD, it was a 1984 7 seater(my avatar) sold it to someone in NSW last year. It had lap belts in the second set of seats and lap belts on the 3 seater couch in the rear.  I had to have  the stalk for the lap belt in the centre.  Thats the way they were originally fited in the US, and was able to get them passed here.  Unable to put lap/sash belts in as there wasn't anywhere to attach them as they had windows next to the seats on pass side and the sliding side door on the drivers side.  No problem with the 3 seater, no one questioned them.  I think it might have something to do with the year of manufacture of the vehicle concerned. thanks for that julian iv come across a guy in slacks creek who certifies seat belts so im going to see him shortly ill post how i went..(hes a friend of a friend so fingers crossed)
