When I played with them (a long time ago) CB radios had a loud speeker function.

Some setreo's also did, JayCar most likely make a kit.

hunt around I'm sure youlle find something

Yes, great fun, but they are also illegal.

Having said that, I have one in my van. Most old CB radios have a PA function.
Plug this into a mono power amp, then to a small outdoor speaker. Pretty easy to rig up.

I have one in my charity bash car which was put in last year. It is separate to the cb and the unit has microphone function, sirens and even animal noises. Volume control and speaker which is loud enough to get noticed from a far but not excessive. (can also put microphone to internal speakers to hear radio/cd on the outside.)
I'll see if the unit has a model number etc for you when I get home.

Hey pirate,

tried to take a photo of the unit but it came out all dark. Anyway, here it is from the online shop.

Hope it helps.

yeh ive done it couple of times both times did it on the cheap:)

i ran a pa microphone through a stereo 12v car power amp.. (one i had lying around) now i ran it through one chanel and back through the second channel.. cause i wanted more volume and didnt have a pre amp. then just used a outdoor speaker under the bonnet. best thing about running back through the second channel is it overdrives a bit and sounds cool as.. and is really loud too!! cant be sure how good it is for the amp but the amp still works to this day so meh??
