thanks busy got the tags ok but i think the plates are dodgy, just picked it up on saturday from queenstown, the plates and chassis numbers dont seem to match the vehicle, the rego is on hold, rung ltsa, they wern;t much help, gotta get it sorted tho, plan on spending a few bucks on it so dont want to get caught out down the track  stevo  oh yea got no papers with ir either, if worst comes to worst will have to get it vinned

Ive just had mine checked as there was no rego plates...lucky mine was in with the mechanic, so i asked him, as i had taken the "Body No: (which is what you see deep stamped in the area under windscreen outside when you lift bonnet (bout 6 digits i think).

The chassis no is actually on an alloy plate (mine was on the step next to drivers seat, facing door (two alloy sheets 1 was blue and 1 was black, the black one had numbers which mached the body no deep stamped as mentioned) the No which is used as a "VIN" no is NOT infact the body nomber but is actually the long number made of 2 sections and ONLY Numbers on the blue one (plate left facing when looking), mine had 11 numerals in it.

I did 2 trips to MVR first time took the Body number (stamped one) and model number (had letters in it) they couldnt find anything, but said i needed the engine number, so asked Matt at Brakes Plus, who told me what numbers were what, also gave me the engine number (a HQ engine apparantly) did a run on the new numbers, and i was given the all clear:) big weight of my mind, specially when id just spent $3K on work:)

I think a good refrence, is to make sure that you have an alloy plate with a number that matches the Body number under the hood, and your likely to be ok:)

got the sarga sorted today, rung ltsa and talked on the phone for a hour, when i purchased the vehicle it had plates which had been changed to another plate number, the plates on it should have been handed in but wern't, i looked up carjam.co.nz to get the chassis number and that wasn;t the same as the one on the van i bought, but not only that the van i bought had 2 chassis numbers, confused? on nz models there is a alloy tag on the seat bases as busy said, but someone had installed a drivers seat base on the passengers side aswell and this had a chassis number to, so i had 3 chassis numbers and 2 plate numbers for the same vehicle, anyways to cut a long story short i took the drivers seat base tag as original, rung ltsa and they provided me with the original plate number so changed ownership into my name, got a new set of plates and found out the rego is still on hold untill xmas, what a bonus, also was talking to the guy i purchased it off on saturday nite and he bought this van just to get the mags off for his camper and a few other bits and pieces, anyway he was asking were he could get a diff with the cresta conversion, i told him they are available but pretty hard to find, he said he would keep looking, anyway we loaded the van onto the trailer and headed home, got up early sunday morn and went out to play with my new bedy, climbed underneath to have a good look becuase i bought the van site unseen and what was looking back at me?  a cresta diff thats what, ya gotta have a win somtime ay!!!!!!!    pics to come

Good score m8 , i got a diff off trademe from hastings for $51 bedford housing with cresta gears in it to.

just priced up a bearing kit for it today $520 all up.

Realy ? axel bearings for both sides and crown wheel and pinion

no sorry just axel bearings about 80 bucks each, were did you get your price from?

Saco bearings i tryed S.K.F who made them and they where $300 a side for just the axle bearings
