lol, the steps have been repaired.
I'm just glad that i didn't know that the seatbelt anchor and seat bolts had rusted out while i was driving home.
I have a freind who is gonna get me welding (as opposed to 'blobbing' which is what i usually do),
just gonna take a while.

Really do wish someone had replaced the windscreen rubber about 8 years ago  :D

G'day
So is it still a bargain or what?
The problem I have is that most of my stories end with... and that is why I am not allowed to go back there!

hmmmmmmmmmm
No, not a bargain, but i'm not totally gutted.
i doubt i've found it all , but i hope i've found the worst.
Around the windscreen is gonna be interesting, i'm starting to notice the lack of grace as it curves around the window
I've seen much worse, but the respray was definitely on the dodgy side (paint over silicone in the rust holes)
All the camping stuff is pretty average.....
the drive home (900km) was good

All in all, it will be a while before it is back on the road, and i'm sure my mood will swing wildly as it goes on (and on)

Best of luck to you Worzel. I certainly wouldn't take it on. It's when I see that that I'm really glad I've hung on to mine. Bought mine almost 20 years ago now when I was still looking at moving out of home. Started off with a hiss and a roar and then kind of spluttered as I was flatting and it made it really hard to take a van apart as you didn't know if you were going to be out on your ear the following week. Still languished after I bought my house and it's only been within the last couple of years I've got the bug back.

Sometimes it's been like a noose around my neck but I'm really glad now I kept it all those years. My little repair spots are nothing compared to that. Learning to weld is the best thing you can do I reckon and that's what has rekindled my interest.

You go Worzel!!!
