Gordon's South Island trip
« on: April 30, 2014, 07:01:19 AM »
As you probably know by now this year's NZ Van Nats took place in Christchurch and we took the opportunity to travel around the South Island for a look see. Did a total of 4638 trouble free kilometers in just over two weeks. Encountered some really wild weather along the way including 300mm of rain over 2 days in the Nelson area, 140km winds outside Westport and snow on Arthur's Pass. Thought I would share a few pics with you.

Bas, it was good seeing you and your van again this arvo. Your new wheel arch is looking bloody good. Yep my left hand wiper pin came loose and the blade collapsed in all of the rain that we had in Nelson. Put a bloody great scratch into my new windscreen. Had to climb out in the rain with a half inch spanner and took the whole arm off before any more damage was done. When the weather dried out I sorted the pin out and put it all back together. Just got to get the scratch polished out now. Spewin .. >:(

Dano, thanks for the compliment. The mirrors are off a Mazda MX5. Despite their size they provide pretty good rearward visibility. No flapping around like the standard ones tend to do.
