Driveline / Re: 5sp gearshift adaptor kit?
« on: March 17, 2017, 08:21:33 AM »
Mine is a W50 5 speed. It originally was behind a Holden 3.3 blue motor. the shifter was behind then but when I put a 5.0 litre in it I had to more it back another 50mm. I couldn't find anything off the shelf. All my research pointed to making my own. It really wasn't hard and I got it in one go.

If you want  to chat about it, PM me and I will give you my mobile.

I had to build my own remote shifter. Some photos in my gallery.

You could also try Hoppers Stoppers, but I don't think they are cheap!!!!

I've gone down the same path as a steering guy said the VE had better turning.
Fitting was easy, yet to test as haven't wired up the engine yet.

Garry,

Mine were OK but I did notice that the Commodore VN that I wrecked did have similar rubbers in the rear spring housings. Do you have any sizes as an indication?

Putting the metal bush it I positioned the arm in an steel I-beam at work and used a bottle jack and gentle tapped it and it went in.

Hi guys,
When I replace my top and bottoms with Super Pro bushes, I had to get the guys from Pedders to literally burn/torch the old rubber ones out as they had seized themselves in.
