Sadly have to say Goodby to my Bedmobile after it`s next trip  :'(  . Taking her to Wallaroo SA for a few days then she has to find a new address .  Has been a good project over the years but `cos of health issues am unable to get full use of her.   Hopefully she`ll find a nice cosy shed somewhere  :) .

It is with much sorrow & regret that , because of major medical probs , I have to part with my dear `ol Beddy.
To sell it at a fair & respectful price Im thinking of going the `ebay way` .  What would be a realistic reserve price to put on her??
I got it after it sat for many years  neglected in a shed.    The 186 motor is a Repco rebuilt long motor thats done only a few thousand K`s . Because it sat for so long ( dry ) I replaced welshplugs , water pump , thermo etc . Radiator replaced with a 3 core alloy one . The original 3 sp box is replaced with a 4 sp . Clutch works ok ( doesn`t slip `) but there`s an issue with the adjustment , it has too much free play . I`m thinking the wrong pressure plate is fitted .  All brakes have been renewed ( new shoes & wheel cyl and drums machined ) .  Good LT tyres all round .   The body has some rust but nothing major . Mainly at the joins and rear doors .  Window rubbers would want replacing soon.    The camper conversion was done professionally ( by Cararest or something , not sure ) . It has 240v & 12v wiring etc . Mains water connected ( and tank )  .  Has fridge , slide out TV , plenty of storage , etc ,etc . I fitted a `sail-track ` to the side and comes with a good awning/canopy thingy .  My wife and I have done a couple of small trips in her ( maybe 1000 Ks all up ) and the `ol girl went well .
Comes with 3 months rego .  Drive away .

Driveline / Speedo Q

I`ve swapped my 3 speed box for a 4 speed and now my speedo is not telling me the truth  :( .
It`s showing about 10 ks faster than I`m going .  Is there an easy fix to this prob ?
Is the fault with the gear on the end of the cable or with the worm in the box? Or both  ??? .
Other than the speedo , the `ol girl is going well though I`m still at a loss as to why my clutch seems to have too much pedal before it dis-engages .

Driveline / Strange clutch

Before I bung in my new gearbox I thought I`d check out the clutch .  It wasn`t slipping but the pedal had to be just about on the floor to disengage  it .   Turns out the PO had put a clutch plate & pressure plate in that`s different to the original ..   The old wear marks on the flywheel are 30mm wide and the newer clutch plate facing is 42mm wide ( and the matching pressure plate) .   I thought the new clutch could be from a V8 model but they have 6 springs I think whereas mine still has 4 ..  Any clues as to what this clutch is from?   Could this be causing my pedal issue?
Also..... at the back of my 4speed there is a spring held in by a small bolt ( to position the reverse selector ) .  My bolt is missing so could someone tell me what length bolt I need for there?
Any assist much appreciated.

Driveline / What hole??

The clutch lever on my Beddy has 2 holes for the push rod thingy . See pic .   What one should be used?  Is maybe one for a hydraulic clutch?
Originally the outer hole was used . The clutch disengaged when the pedal was only just off the floor . I swapped it over and it didn`t make a whole lot of difference .  I am wondering if using the inside hole puts more strain on the cable . I can`t take the `ol girl out on the road now (  no rego & it`s jacked up for the gearbox swap ) .

Driveline / Clutch Q

I am swapping my 3 speed box to a 4 speed behind the 186 shortly and am wondering if the clutch needs altering ( will bung in a new one ) .
I`ve noticed there`s clutch plates with 4 springs & plates with 6 springs . Is there a difference in performance / etc ?
What are people using in my set-up?

Driveline / Mystery Carby

I`ve picked up a carb & manifold from a mystery vehicle today . I think a 202 . Picture added ( I hope ) .
Anyone know what  it`s from ?
Will the set-up bolt straight on to my standard 186 motor ( using the original exhaust manifold ) ?
Can I / Should I get more go with the swap ?
Would it improve fuel economy or otherwise ?
Any assist much appreciated .
