Hey folks

Im ray from s.a. - a 37yo married father of 1

been into holdens since i was a lad, owning toranas, monaro's, etc...& then got into hotrods & earlier holdens

over the last  8 years ive been restoring a 62 ek wagon, to mild custom standard 8) 8) :-*

& more recently, bought my first beddy - a 76 CF doormobile poptop 8)
in original condition, with very little rust ;)
plans are to refurbish the interior, fix up the poptop
& enjoy it with my wife & 4y.o. son

obviously my first port of call, was this great website - have learnt a lot over the last few months (old & new site) -you guys are great;)
also own a cf w/shop manual now- priceless

look forward to sharing some help, advice & a few laughs  along the way with you guys - what can i say....im hooked ;D

regards ray 8)

hey guys

will keep ya's all up2date with the progress

yea ben, rego laws are very different here in s.a.
we dont have pink/blue/green slips? here

eg: my beddy, purchased from nsw - sitting in a shed unregoed since 02
all i needed for rego was an i.d. inspection report - which states its that car eng#/chassis# etc
& a quick visual insp, in which they pulled me up on the sports s/wheel >:(
now that its passed (thanx again ben) ;)
i have to go to the rego oriface, with my report...purchase some s.a. plates & rego it for 3/6 or 12months ;D

a mate here in s.a. once purchased an ek panelvan, that hadnt been regoed in 20 odd years :o
when he approached the rego office, & asked what he had to do for rego???
they said, we can rego it now for you
he couldnt get his money out quick enough :D
little did they know the van was undergoing a 3in chop top 8) 8)

the seat in the pic was dummy fitted b4 inspection ;)
as you can see ill have to mod the g/stick

basically you can pretty much do what you want to your car (within reason)
but if you get pulled over & defected
it will then have to go over the pits (regency pk) & theyll go over it with a fine tooth comb

gday

heres some pics of my beddy 8)
picked it up for $1500, which i thought was a bargain - i had to have ;D
especially as it has very little/no rust

its running a 202 red/5spd, & all the other camper mod cons - inc a 3way fridge & sink
as far as i can tell its pretty much original, except for a bit of a custom dash & sunralaysia wheels

plans are to refurbish the interior, new cabinets, fridge, back seat/bed, floor/carpet etc
& repair poptop canvas & vents, chrome bumpers, etc
im also fitting 96-00 tr@#$it seats upfront, like the idea of a duel pass. seat ;)
& eventually lpg conversion, cd/mp3/tv etc

& then...........
DRIVE THE WHEELS OFF IT 8) 8)
