interesting about the gasket, I've been racing with a turbo 202 for a few years now and I have never had an issue with the intake/exhaust gaskets failing! .... but mine is a blue motor so maybe they are different, I use the metal faced gasket on the inlet/exhaust and its worked fine! wish I could say the same for head gaskets!

but I definitely have to agree of the performance gains from a turbo :)

I've put it down to having higher exhaust temps due to LPG . On my beddy after 1000 kays the composite manifold  gaskets end up turning into carbon around the exhaust ports. The head gets so hot that it has burnt the paint above the exhaust ports right off!

Have never had an issue with head gaskets though, 10 psi is fairly modest boost.

Another turbo beddy! Nice work  :)
You won't be disappointed, the torque these little motors produce with boost is very impressive.

Earlier you said you were going draw through? Personally I think that's a very bad idea, especially with LPG.
Blow through would be a much better option and there are plenty of LPG setups that are capable of this when done correctly.
Personally I went with the Gas research carb and b2 convertor, and am very happy with the result.

Another good idea which would have saved me a great deal of work had they been available earliier are these copper manifold gaskets.

I've lost count of the times I've  burnt out manifold gaskets before I fitted a copper one. The standard ones just aren't up to the task.

Old Holden engines never die, (even when
10 Psi tries to snipe em lol).

Maybe you might have been wondering how Mr Whippy has been doing 3 years after being boosted, answer is juust fine thank you :-)

Miscellaneous Technical / Re: radiator alternatives?
« on: March 11, 2012, 11:40:26 PM »
I use a landcruiser HZJ75 radiator in my camper. Outlet and inlet are in the right positions. Not too bad to fit but forget having a mechanical cooling fan as there just isnt enough room.
Works bloody well considering.
