Exteriors and Interiors / Re: Door and bonnet seals

Thanks John. I checked out the rare spares kit. Was a bit too pricey for me considering I didn't need most of what was in it :)

Exteriors and Interiors / Door and bonnet seals
« on: November 17, 2016, 08:31:52 AM »
Hey everyone.

I have a 79 LWB CF and am needing to replace the seals for both front doors, the side door and the bonnet. Any ideas of where to get any kits or what the specific type I need from Clark Rubber or other places?

Thanks all!

Is that when you are looking under the bonnet or on the drivers side?

CF Bedford Chat / Chasis Number Stamp?!?

Hi all,

The good folks at Regency have tole me I need to locate the Chasis number stamped on the chasis somewhere before they take my canary away.
Any ideas as to where that's going to be?
And it's not the plate that's riveted to the drivers side foot well or the plate under the bonnet, it's apparently stamped on somewhere.

Cheeres,
Simeon

@taggraphx...Is there seriously no damage to the metal? I'm about to start the process of striping down to bare metal to see how bad the rust is and can't afford to pay for blasting so I'm looking at all other options.

It usually is, but rust in the firewall is just one of those things they wont let pass.

I think the shock of finding out just how much I had been ripped off and lied to was more of a mess around than anything. There's alot of work to be done on it but like many I'm not in a position to be able to pay someone to just do it all, so I'll be trying to do the bulk of it myself. Luckily I have a very talented sparky mate for the wiring, and a few friends to help with the first job-stripping it back to bare metal to see just how bad the rust is. It's been properly defected by Regency with rust in the firewall and the underside of the front doors but I want to find out where the rest is.

Hi Phil,
It's definitely the red 202, the mods and such are just the previous owners ideas of using what was around to fix or repair. I'll be honest, since leaving his place in Melbourne and having the thing die 10 minutes out I have most definitely had second thoughts.
