My partner an I were looking for a motorhome to live in work out of etc we came across a 1971 Bedford camper.Shower toilet fridge stove oven twin batteries new roof on camper 202 4 speed After negotiation with owner we took it home for $6250 10 months rego. After spending some time getting to know camper and fixing things stove electrics shower etc we have fallen in love with it the only real issue I have is driveability. On highway drives smooth and straight but it in city traffic feels more like a tractor very agricultural with 4 speed box. Is this normal with 4 speed .My partner can drive manual but think she would struggle in traffic. My question is would we be better to rebuild 4 speed or install something like a trimatic. I've driven Bedford's with 3 speed 186 and trimatic 253 v8 and they were much better to drive thanks again
