Title: Who is turning 50?
Post by: wendyh on August 17, 2018, 10:48:35 PM
Guess whos turning 50 next year ?????

Its our beloved BEDFORD CF 50th ANNIVERSARY
IN 2019
Who is keen to help us celebrate this historic occasion,
coming upon us on the 31st of Oct 2019?

From the stats of the last poll we ran, the consensus was that the Bedford Vans Australia Facebook page was our UNofficial Bedford Van club for all states & territories.

Soooooo.......

We ( John Forbes and myself) would like to put forward that we dedicate the saturday 2nd and sunday the 3rd of nov 2019 for our celebrations.

We would like to hear from each and everyone out there who is keen to join in, please put your thoughts into this so we can have a really great weekend.

We also urge our CF van clan in New Zealand and the UK to join us in the celebrations as well!!!

So please fill in the poll below and you can also add an option, or send us a suggestion by PM or comment below, if you wish.

Were looking for a central location to the majority of those interested in attending, because this is on a 2 day weekend , we feel it should be one in each state to allow easy travel to the events, be were keen to see what the rest of you guys think.

Were looking at a weekend away somewhere, head out early on saturday, arrive at a determined point and go for a cruise so we can enjoy a bedford convoy, dazzle the crowds with our awesome machines, and arrive at our venue mid arvo, enjoy a bbq and a few cold ones, around a fire, sharing bedford stories until the last one cant recall any more... awaken to the sound of a cold start V8 van , hot coffee, tea, yummy bacon and egg rolls for breakfast, chillin n relaxing while chatting about bedfords again.
And to mark the occasion and essential photo shoot with our vans and owners all lined up and then sadly all head home around 2 pm on the sunday.....

WE WELCOME YOUR IDEAS AND SUGGESTIONS.
Looking forward to a great bedford blitz day to celebrate this milestone in motoring history.

Wendy, I am being the devils advocate.... Love the idea, so much so I will help organise a weekend away is SA... Why not have it on the October long weekend... most states have the 7th Oct as a public holiday.... except the vics (they wait til the cup) & WA (they have the week before) for labour day... and lets face it , owning a CF is a labour of love... :). so lets have a long weekend of a CF lovefest... if we are not all having it on the same weekend... dare I say CF......

I would like to attend. Hope it's in NSW somewhere.
The beddy's up for engineering early next year (LS1/ T700 powered) then registered & painted (thinking midnight blue, white roof & white Sunraysias). Cheers,
baz

Hi Wendy, where in NSWs are you proposing, we are few in the ACT and fewer seem to like to travel.  Would consider attending if not to far away.
