Hi all i am new my username name is Barber and I own a J1 Bedford and I pulled out the original engine from the truck yesterday and I have a holden 253 v8 with a trimatic gearbox to go into it but I am a little stuck I don't have any engine mounts for it and I am a little unsure if I need to modify anything to make it all fit so if their is any information or photos of yours I would appreciate it thanks

Ebay is always a good start but I have found it is amazing what engineers will let you get away with, I have changed Cf back from a Ford windsor v8 motor mount to a holden straight 6 with just a couple of bits of flat steel and 4x10mm bolts, best bet pester your repco for a book on motor mounts and you are sure to find some very near matches. A conversion can save big $ in the future

a few of J1 me and a mate are rebuilding that has a 253 in it. My Mate is a truck guy and cos i'm a bedford guy he has got me involved in the build. it has some thick wall square tube welded to the front cross member running back to another cross member that the 253 mounts too. Fully legal here in NZ, not sure if it would be legal in Australia with the different engineering laws
