Title: control rod bushes
Post by: Worzel on February 20, 2009, 11:24:53 AM
Does anyone know where i can get control rod bushes (also called castor bushes)?
I was under my beddy and noticed that a few have disintegrated, and haven't found a source yet.

I was given this
Peter Coesling Motor Cycle Services
08 82319346

The original owner of my beddy (the grey one), got this guy to do all the front end and gear box modifications. He also did the diff mods.  He has all front end spare parts in stock. We were told this in October 2008.
Hope this helps you guys out

Guy's

If you are referring to the bushers on the rods connected to the back of the front cross member and going towards the rear and connecting to the chassic (not really castor Rods) I bought a full set from Pedders Suspension at Stafford in Brisbane about 12 months ago for about $120 off the shelf, they had the listing on their books

Yeah, pedders are looking for me, but they didn't sound hopeful and didn't have a listing (three days and waiting).
A couple of auto surplus stores are looking too,
They are called control rods, but some people call them castor rods because they adjust the castor (apparently)  ;)

Warren the 1 Tonners are just bolted on. No bushes at all. I have someone looking into making all the Bedford bushes, but like Worzel I'm just waiting waiting ...

that's 6 sets. (heeheee, might get a discount ;) )
but i'd better get em right.
ben, ol' buddy - you must have a few lying around, if you post a few too me i can send them back with your new ones.

The main reason i'm getting new ones is because most of mine were replaced with nolothane before i bought it (cool i thought) but the bushes have crapped out because they were too thick and hence overcompressed when the nuts were done up to the metal spacers.
So let me know if anyone has one to spare or i'll have to drive to see the man and crawl under the van to get a few samples :(

that's seven, at eighty dollars a set...............
Maybe i should get one set to see if they are ok before i order heaps,

Okay, i'm gonna watch this thread for a while, and see how many we get too.
The factory is al least 90km away so i'm gonna let it build till i'm going out that way.
There's a wrecker on the way so i can get some old bushes on the way.

As far as i know they all have the same bushes (and i've seen a few)

Gents

I found the invoice for the bushers that I bought 12 months ago now I got them from Fulcrum Suspension they call them Strut Bar Bushers they are still available at the moment in their ware house which is in Melbourne and the phone number is 03 94800338 and the cost is the same as the one's Worzel has, $80 a full set

Cheers

thanks joe,
i've just rung them up and they only wholesale, but here follows a link to their distributors.

PART No. SPF1286K

so they recommended moparts who aren't on their list, and at first moparts said they couldn't get them, but we worked through that.

the result, one set in stock which is on its way to croyden with my name on it  :-[
$79 dollars for 8 bushes and 4 tubes ;D       PART No. SPF1286K
