The Bedford CF range covered just about every possible configuration available for light trucks.
Although it was not a standard option, a limited number of single rear wheel CF Long Wheelbase vans were produced with the lower roof profile of an swb. As I said in a previous post, there was a CFL with the low roof here in my town, back in the day.
The only other one I have seen was the CF2 recently for sale on eBay UK. I contacted the seller, who confirmed that the roof was factory original and said he believed Bedford only made up to seven or eight of these vans per year.
This rare CF2 was last registered in 1984 and has been off the road for thirty years. He bought the van when its original owner passed away. The bodywork is still in almost perfect condition.
Mods are: Paint, frenched rear number plate, rear guard flares, bonnet scoop, row of five cab roof lights, rebuilt Rover 3.5 V8 with auto trans, new side outlet twin exhaust, and Jag rear end. The front wheels still have drum brakes.
Has anyone else ever seen one of these models?

that looks good!
low roof LWB would be my ultimate bedford!

I've seen two in Australia, I believe they were made for a government department or company, in very limited numbers. Pics below of one from SA, a factory built LWB with a low profile roof. I was looking for one for a while, very hard to find.

Thanks Zeeman, ;)
The rear guards on that van suggest that they probably made the low roof option on some dual rear wheel vans also.

I edited Zeeman's pic to see how that van would look with the rear guard extension.

Might as well lower it & chop the roof too..
