Title: Radiator required
Post by: joshua on April 10, 2015, 04:52:32 PM
I had a kangaroo hug the front of the beddy the other day which was sad. It burst the radiator. Since the ol girl was getting hot I thought I might find out if there is a better option to replace in there rather then the one I originally had.

ALSO should I go Aluminium or copper?

Kind regards

Joshua

I guess the question is how far are you prepared to go to make something fit ? I have fitted a commodore V8 radiator to mine, it did require making a new radiator support but otherwise it fits in ok so this would give you more capacity, but that of course assumes you are willing to do the mods ..... for the record commodore 6 cylinder radiator is the same size, just with pipes in different spots to suit 6 cyl ....

alternatively you can get on ebay and find all manner of alloy radiators .... in fact I have a chev one in my Gemini (pipe locations the same as for a 6 cyl), its nearly twice as thick as the stock Bedford radiator and fits in to the mounting holes, and it was about $180 from memory ... and alloy does cool better than copper.

If it were me Id be sticking with copper n brass.
Alloy corrodes too easy and is softer.
