Title: Sydney Van Wanted urgently for film work!!
Post by: hammers_spanners on February 03, 2009, 07:45:31 AM

The makers of Underbelly 2 are looking for a pre 1982 bedford or ford transit van that i would be able to pass off as an english prison transport vehicle

I received this request from Peter Frez from SXV by the makers of Underbelly!

we would require the van on the 7th and 13th of february at a location within 10 km of sydney CBD

to be perfect the van would be a dark blue long wheel base, however with only a couple of weeks to go we are willing to
make some compromises

There is promise of a pretty good hire fee for the supplier of the van and an interesting day on set with a very yummy 2 course lunch and of course the opportunity to have the van on a national and we hope very popular tv series

PM me if interested.

Craig

G'day

Usually this sort of stuff pays little if any. Most production companies run on a shoestring. The short notice indicates a lack of planing as well. We have had a few production companies do shoots around here. The good ones gave months of notice, but still didn't pay much. The thrill of "being in a movie" was always put up as an incentive.

yeh i have done some work in production stuff with a few of my different beddy vans.. and i think the best i was paid was 150 a day.. and the worst was 100 a night.. but most of the time you dont do anything.. just sit around and talk to people.. once you meet everyone go and have a sleep thats what i used to do.. jsut slept through the whole thing. when they need you the will come for you..

if you live too far away its not worth it cause it costs too much to get there in fuel. so make sure you add that into the deal when you start!

I scored $400 for one night mid last year but I think a mate that was working on the film crew might of had something to do with that.

I only lived 5 min away so all i did was drop the car off and pick it up 7 hours later. easy money.
