Title: Cheaper option
Post by: ben on January 29, 2009, 07:18:53 AM
what have you found that is a cheaper option. and pro's and con's. ill start. (i expect some good ones from you ed!)

fibreglass bog.. $10 for 3 litres much cheaper than normal car bog.. $40 - 50 for 3 litres.

pro
fibreglass bog is waterproof!!! a lot harder. so cheap for the serious bogger!

con
pretty hard to sand (use an orbital and its fine.)

experimenting using fibreglass resin as a sort of high fill also.

doesnt seem to work as brilliant as fibreglass bog but will do some more experimenting. maybe with a little more powder in it it may be less sticky and work much better..

cheers

i think i may have nailed the high fill thing.. i was not using enough catylist.. therefore it was sticky cause not going off properly!

ive just  been brushing it on.. but i suppose if you thined it down you could even spray it on.. and put food dye in it so its a color and you can see where youve been lol.

i could even make up kits for anyone interested in going the cheap way lol hahahaha!
even if it was a third of the price of bog it would still be worth it ay!

i like your thinking, dude :D
you could even make mini kits, for doing small patch up jobs etc.and for putting around flared guards and spoilers..
