righto I know this has been touched on before but would like to know what people think of gasless welders
Use gas mig welders at work all the time (Manual arts teacher) but at the moment getting a unreg van into work for small jobs is unviable soooo.......
what is the verdict on gasless welders for panel work only as I have heard a small breeze and they are cactus!
your feedback will be appreciated

Hotrod you're right about the wind. You need ideal conditions to use a gasless mig. There is no control for adjusting the shielding as you would with a gas mig. Also they produce heaps of splatter requiring anti splatter compounds. The splatter also being hot burns wherever it sticks!
I have both, the gasless is the what I "lend out" and nobody gets my mig! ;D ;D

Go here and read all about it. This is just the best site for mig welding. Plenty of info in the forum.
