Benny,
I am pretty sure that they are glass because I clipped a concrete wall and put a small crack in
my left hand guard - it looks to be fibreglass. They are quite thick!

I'm fairly convinced mine are fibreglass ;) I've seen some that are broken and they looke all fibres
-
well it is possible the ones i have here are aftermarket ones out of some sort of green stuff.. i thought it might have been espestos.. i dont really know what espestos looks like but i just thought so..
its possible that both yours tweaker and jock are aftermarket fibreglass ones.. 30 years is a long time.

The original flares are fiberglass. Maybe Ben some enterprising person ran up a mould to make ABS plastic flares??

Hmmm.... I'm gonna have to get up under there and have a closer look ;)

the orignals are fiber glass but they are press moulded (inner & outer moulds are pressed together ) same system is used on corvettes
-
that explaines why they look plastic 2 me .
gelcoat both sides. iv never chipped away at an orig 2 actually see.
