Hello you crazy bunch of Beddy fans. ;D I was wanting to know how the whole vehicle engineering thing works. I am planning on doing a complete v6 commy conversion to my truck engine /tranny /diff dash/complete wiring loom ,ect ect.. Do you pay a fee up front or is it a progressive payment or do you only pay once the vehicle is complete and ready to go to licencing? I need to start putting together a budget for this build. Many thanks Johnno ;D ;D ;D

Hi John,
No idea, but why not contact the local rod club. They will know the rules and regs, but most importantly, what you can get away with. ;D

Na, worth the effort, they drive nice with them in..

I Agree ;D ;D

Yes but at what cost I honestly think the hours spent doing the conversion the costs of parts & the modifications needed to fit plus engineering hassels it would be easier to go buy a new van Just my thoughts but I like beddies just the way they are thats why we bought them isnt it
-
Sorry Reid but hell no. I bought mine because it was just begging for improvement.
Although looking at it in its current state you'd have to wonder how bad it was originally to call it 'improved'. ::)

Dont get me wrong over the years iv done a few engine swaps & I think I have modifyed just about all the cars i have owned & a few for my sons but here in NSW it's all getting TOO hard Wishn I lived in NZ you guys can get away with anything haha Anyway these days I would rather spend my money on a trick paintjob big brakes nice wheels & lowered with airbags that's what the trend is in the states stock dechromed bodys & trick interiors hot up the motor it came with but that's just me everybody is different & that's what makes the world go round Cheers Reid

I had a mate that built up a Bedford van when I was a lot YOUNGER it was a ground up rebuild, no body moods except tinted windows all round and a set of 10" rims on the back and 8" rims on the front, they did extend out past the guards a little, but was allowed back then., the motor was a mild worked blue printed and balanced 202 with a fully rebuilt Trimatic, and fully rebuild Cresta diff, I think he spent 20k + back then, this van drove real well with plenty of power, so yes I understand what you are talking about, but for some reason, we like to take the long hard road, when in fact the short easy road might be just as good..

202?? might as well 253?? more economical... ( yes i know... the 70,s called an wanted their engine back ).. ;D ;D ;D
