Title: looking for a cf
Post by: mezzmo on December 09, 2008, 09:53:49 PM
Hi, i am a new member and i am currently on the look out for a good condition cf van. preferably windowless but will consider windows. ideally the van will be totally original ie: engine, trans etc and basically unmolested so i have a fresh canvas. Will consider anything of good condition and i am open to price (within reason)

please contact me on dsh@net2000.com.au

Thanks Ben (and Maria)

I did spot this one today but not sure its what i'm after - call me lazy but i would rather spend the extra bux and get one that needs very little body work - this one looks like it may need a fair bit - rust wise anyway. Still, if i get a chance i may call them 2morrow.

Just been going through the site and its brilliant! Certainly heaps of info. i'm looking forward to looking around some more when i get the chance.

Cheers Ben and thanks again for the help.

hiya Mezzmo,

well you came to the right place:)

Are you a corvette fan also? My 2 dream cars...1/ Bedford SWB, 2/ Singray Corvette convertable mid 70's with the side pipes:)

Hi Kirk -

im sure i've come to the right place -if and when i find the cf i'm looking for - i'll be bugging the bejesus out of everyone for advice!!

I am definately a corvette fan - i have a yellow 1980 (as per pic) a red and white 1958 in mint condition and a 1954 having a "heart transplant" as we speak - i think thats why i need to get back to the beddie - i want something i get my teeth into and not have to search the globe or wait 6 months to find "The part"

I grew up loving these vans, in particular the black freedom machine / easy roller and cant wait to get stuck in!

Look forward to many chats and useful advice

G'day

Bedfords are like any other vehicles, good condition examples bring good money. I know of plenty of people looking for a van in top condition.
I know of a bloke named Glen who paid $25,000 for an unregistered CFS that needed a fair amount of work and money to get it registered. I made a genuine offer of $30,000 and he said "No".
So unless your lucky to find one hidden away, be prepared to open your wallet.

Hi guys,

Being really new to this sort of thing i apologise that i didn't post a message to advise that i found one. Its a SWB windowless, 179 auto - dual fuel reistered till May - i had the roadie completed on Monday and now she's ready to roll. All up $1800.00 - It does have rust in the usual places but i've already arranged with Ben for the relacement Cargo Door and i am converting the Barn Doors to one single door - also getting this off Ben. The other body rust was covered up "just enough" to pass the roadie WOO HOO!!

My mechanic already has grand plans off full commodore running gear - V6 etc (and he just so happens to have one laying around) Anyway - its a long term project but its nice to be part of the beddie community - thanks for all the help so far to everyone, and best wishes for Xmas and the New Year.

The van looks like a good starting point for a build, good man for putting up pics!
