Title: wanted lhd heater vent
Post by: BusyKiwi on December 05, 2012, 12:50:07 PM
I know this is probably a long shot, but have to try.

Anyone have a vent (screws into the top of the dash - wedge shape thing) from a left hand drive bedford, am only after the drivers side one of the three but they should be all the same.

I've never actually seen one but am guessing since the heater is on the other side the top vents would be opposite to normal.

Second option, if anyone has a straight one (often middle ones are straight), mk1 and mk2 are the same but they often curve from heat and age. I have about 6 of them but are all to curved to try curve the other way.

Cheers

Hi Busy,

Could you not lay it on a steel bench pointing up and use heat gun to try and straighten one of the six you have. Atleast you have a few spares to test on till you get the result required.

Maybe use piece of wood or rod to keep vent gap so it does not sag in the middle.

Just a thought

Yeah tried that, the middle curved but the ends wouldn't, they actually got worse (tighter)
