Title: Mini Roof Vent
Post by: BlackBedford on April 10, 2012, 04:49:10 PM
G'day

I am looking for a small roof vent for the van something like this:

The only ones that are available are 14" square.
I have seen ones that are smaller (9-10" sq) but still work the same way.

Can anybody help please?

Regards

Or try some of these Hino trucks, they have the really small pop up vents, around 150mm x 150mm. You could get them from a truck place or cut one out and graft it in. But try the truck spares place first.

G'day

Thanks for the advice. I should have mentioned that I went to the local boating and caravan shops. They were not helpful and the only one I was showed was well over $200!
It certainly didn't look like it was worth it.

I posted on an OS forum and was sent this link:

US$26.99 sounds a lot better. I have sent them an inquiry about freight costs.

dont forget that in todays society that only get you pay for?
$26.95 sounds good now but how long will it last?
hinges, quality of plastic etc.
will the plastic break down in uv light?

id go either the boating or caravan ones
and not eat for a week, lol. :D

hey Bas, yep been a while, have been in hospital, have lost my sight for a while, and just been dealing with bad health. The pros and cons of the situation, sadly the van has suffered, with no more work happening. Trying to get someone to work on it with me is the main problem.

Yep george, get back on the van, you need this to pull yourself through, my mate spends 90% of the time in bed now, and only up in the chair on a good day............ Has even got a $150,000  rebuilt Mustang in the garage that just sits there now.......

have you tried truck truck spare parts places or wreckers  a lot of the old small trucks had them and they would open both ways.

Hey Chris, there's a website called www.shipito.com (http://www.shipito.com). Their business is receiving and forwarding on items when the sellers won't ship out of the States. I've used them and they're good. They're great for those little eBay gems that you can't get anywhere else but the seller won't ship overseas. Just set up an account and get yourself verified and you're away. You do have to place a deposit when setting up your account but that comes off your first shipment anyway.

Generally if it's something I really want and can't get anywhere else I really don't care about the shipping. Got my eye on a couple of mufflers on eBay right now which aren't going to be cheap but I think they will be just the ticket.
