Title: Blue 202 oil pump
Post by: Snow1 on March 26, 2012, 05:32:59 PM
Hi all,

the engine in my camper takes about 5 seconds to get oil pressure when first  starting it after it has been standing a few days.
Is this an oil pump issue that can be fixed easily?

Thanks

Snow

That sounds about right to me Snow. What i prefer to do is just crank the motor over without choke or pumping the accelerator just to start building up some oil pressure, then pull the choke and fire her up. I hate starting any motor and hear everything rattle before the oil comes up. ;D

And it could be the oil just lost its density, change the oil and filter. put some moreys in it , this leaves an oil layer up the top, so less wear on dry starts

Brand and C.C. rating on the oil makes a big differance too
