just a Quick couple of questions,
ive never really known the answer to...
how many kilometers is a reconditioned holden motor capable of?????
and also how many kilometers does it take to say the motor is run in?
how many kilometers will the lifters last for ?

These days you don't really have to run the engine in as the rings and stuff are self seating.
A lot depends on where driven and how hard, example is it going to do only around town driving with lots of start stops or only on open roads where is cruises at a regular rpm. Also how frequent the servicing is, type of oil (cheap and nasty vs high grade) and also parts used in the engine, aftermarket parts or genuine ...

also depends if everything has been blue printed and balanced., and what diff ratio your running too. for eg orig diff running 5.2:1 then the engine is spinning a lot faster per km. than say a 3.33:1
dad has done 400thou kms on his 253 and its still going strong.. it wasnt balanced but always ran smooth.
id say at least 200 thousend and if you got 400 thou youd be doing really well.
