Title: question for gary armstong
Post by: ben on September 04, 2008, 11:18:06 AM
hey gary i was just very interested to know how you managed to fit disc brakes on the front while keeping the std beddy stud pattern?

did you just get the disc hubs redrilled for bedford stud pattern? sounds like the way to do it. but come to think of it i dont think there would be enough meat on a hq hub for that.. ill leave the answers for you.. or anyone else who knows how to do it

thanks
ben

ben, u can get an adapter plate made up that bolts to the hub or axle.

then u bolt the wheel to the new studd pattern,
it will widen the wheelbase. as well .
im not sure if this is how garry has done it but im interested to find out now.

thanx hammers_spanners, oh well there goes that idea ben,
they must be ok here in NSW coz i seen em on ebay for a landcruiser, although just because they sell em prob dont mean they are legal.
are they legal in any state in  AUS  or  NZ?

I'd say that more to the point. Anyway you need to be careful when it your life if something goes wrong. I've seen some pretty bad attempts at spacers and adapters over the years.
