So I go my hands on a 9" at a really good price. Its 1610mm from face to face and has massive disk brakes fitted though I'm not sure I'll use the brakes.
Brakes are removed in these pictures:

My slave cutting off the unwanted brackets:

New spring mounts tacked in place and test fitting:

All welded up and in place. Just have to get some new U bolts as the 9" axle tubes are a little bigger than the Bedford.

Hope you enjoy.

Looking good. Is it from an F100?
Don't forget to chrome it!

Lucky BUGA!! My 9" is only 1450mm inside to inside. Looks bad from the rear and does the handling no good at all...
And it whines when you back off the throttle :'(

Its out of a lincoln. The F100 or any commercial 9" for that matter is no good as the pinion is way ofset to the drivers side and would most probably make the tail shaft hit the fuel tank.
Banksx2, why does your diff whine? Need a service? Or is your pinion angle not correct? The pinion should be pointing up 5 degrees.

Yeah I figure it's just a bit tired. I put some additive in there but results = 0

We have a Bedford in the local area that has a Ford galaxie 9" diff, he claimed the CF Bedford axles from a Jumbo fitted straight in, as he runs duels.............

i got 9" made and re-enforced to suit the van and the commodore 18" rims which fitted the bigger brakes conversion. which i think suit the van. the axle was made in three pieces because of the length. it really stiffened up the body roll with koni adjustable gas shocks and the extra leaf in the spring. wazza

You guys with 9inches in your vans, what size U-bolts are you using?
