he has a doner roof.

notice it has 3 roof braces, ours is only 2. I also added an extra one

is a doner roof the same as a doner kebab? I just dudded some roof and gutter repairs using jenco, decided the van is gunna have to be the work van now I have to look for other employment so need it going soon, next is to hand roll kill rust over her. wooppee nearly finished all the prep now gunna roll and sand and roll and sand and roll and sand and sand and sand and buff and buff and buff and buff ... $80 for 4 litres of kill rust in a lurverly shade of pewter and been doing a few carpenter jobs and bought a heap of second hand builders tools including another compressor so not short of equipment to spray the van but thought I might experiment with the kill rust paint job, got a coupla small building jobs lined up for next week but might paint the beddie instead. Should be on the road dementia bound in the next three weeks once we've made enough cash to pay for fuel, might even drag the caravan over west way to Perth. Hey Perth brothers any jobs for carpenters out your way?
-
this is what i need to do i guess. easier than cutting out and replacing all the gutters?
anyone with a doner roof in melbs??
-
I'd never take the roof off again unless it was a full resto
-
Eddy there is always work for carpenters, so you'l be over for the Nat's then?
-
Craig
careful with my roof, I dont want a convertible like the one in the pic, although it might be fun.
-
roof what roof? :o just kidding.... 8) ;D
-
hey petrol head, looked on internet and not much action for carpenters over west, perhaps they've all returned from the mines? the destination will be a flip of the coin, heads we go west tails we go east, we'll probably do that just as soon as we are out of the Melbourne suburbs ;D

ok, so iv done a fair bit this week and thought some guys would like to see the dreaded gutter profile dissected these photos are off a good panel section above the windscreen from the one in york, you can see how they are put together and why they rust so much FISH OIL IS YOUR FRIEND!! or anything else you can find.

this is the center pce , the rest of your roof is built around it you can still see part of the roof trimmed out.

overall profile
(http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x234/craigc327/metalwork%20and%20wrecks/IMG_0004.jpg)
without the gutter pce you can see the other 2 separate panels
(http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x234/craigc327/metalwork%20and%20wrecks/IMG_0003.jpg)
this is the inside panel that your sun-visors are bolted onto.

and finally the front of the screen seal.
you can see how far that the seam sealer has to travel to fill that gap.

will put some pics up tomorrow its a huge job and the piece around the screen has a heap of shape my advise would be to find a donner if you can as this panel is very hard to make
