i was looking into the idea of a 4wd chassis under a bedford, and the GQs are a competent chassis- However, if you have a look on the net, you'll find quite a few cases of the chassis cracking, and not just around welds, some are in very dangerous places, and not necessarily from abusive off roading.
G'day
I too have been looking at making a 4wd CF and have been offered a MQ Patrol chassis. I googled for Patrol chassis cracking and it seems to be related to coil spring, cab/chassis, and/or airbag setups.
I have spoken to several people who have used the Patrol chassis and none have had any trouble.
I have posted the picture before but here are pics of an early Transit van converted to a dual cab and then mounted on a Patrol chassis with a 351 V8. It is towing a bloody big trailer with a large load. The bloke driving it had not had any magor problems with the setup despite many years of hard work.

Is it a coil or leaf spring chassis that Transit is sitting on?
There are some pictures in my gallery of my coil spring GQ. I think you will struggle big time to get a coil spring chassis under the bedford.
