Doof doof - check it out in Clancy boys image gallery.
Clancy, your camper is sizing up to be a sweeeet camper! You would be happy with it I imagine?
Now lets talk about that dash....
Where did you get the instrument cluster from? It looks mint and I want to do the same to my dash...
None of my gauges work any way! Need to replace asap.
Info on where to buy would be great - again I must compliment you on your build - looking good my friend, looking good...
-
Yeah that really looks sweet now i've seen the bigger picture. Clocking over that first K on the clock will be fantastic.

nice work Clance ;)

Whats the steering column from?
-
It looks like an XE XF ford steering column??? Jd

Hi Guys, thanks for the compliments.
All the instruments came off ebay, speedo the lot. the fourway gauge was commented on in the old forum with a link to the ebay seller.
I think this is it:-
cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180239508650&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008 (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=180239508650&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=008)
All the switches & indicator lights eg high beam etc are leds from Repco but the part numbers I sourced from the Narva web site:-
http://www.narva.com.au/ (http://www.narva.com.au/)
It took me 2.5 months to source all the right bits through ebay so keep searching guys! my searches included "speedometer", "fuel gauge" "auto instruments" etc.
Yes it is an XF steering column and after much frustration I got everything working including the high beam flick switch part!! AARGGghh that took a while! there is a tiny contact buried deep in the switch, hard to describe and to find but it was worn out so I recrafted another!!
cheers and hope this helps.

Was it much work fitting the steering column? Not the electrical, but the mechanical?
-
Hi ya all, No it isn't too much trouble fitting the column, they mount up pretty close to standard just had to modify the end mount to the rack and change over the vibration rubber, weld square tube on the end to fit over the standard rack arm. I'll take some pics when the sun is shining to show ya.
in regards to the dash, it's just a standard bedford binical that I took the guts out of, then made up a piece of MDF to fit,cut the holes for gauges n lights, modified the fromea of the original so that it leans back about 20 degrees from standard and the raised it about 25 mm so I could see it all properly through the steering wheel. All the standard dashes have real long bolts holding them in place so there is heaps of thread not being used, whack 6 or more washers under each to achieve the desired position.

Photos of the column will be great. Thanks
-
Hi Guys, Pics of the steering column are now up in my gallery! Have a nice day. :o
-
Hey clance what brand are the gauges ??
Warren
-
Speedo built by Stuart Wagner for S.A. police, fuel gauge by Speco & 4 way gauge by Autoplutonium. Check the links I posted earlier in this thread or search for speedo on the old site for more info.

Thanks for the info Clance
I had a look at the links, but I thought the speedo & tacho may have been from the same crowd.

Nah Sorry Warren there from all over the place hey!1 I can tell you they all took some hunting down! Like trying to get a mechanical speedo with the right cable connection was a nightmare!!
