Title: Bedfords are not dead
Post by: BusyKiwi on October 28, 2010, 05:55:43 PM
When I started my custom van I didnt see any Bedfords on the road (that was a few years ago now), but now I have 2 Bedford vans - 1 standard (ish) and 1 custom I get asked a lot for bedford parts and stuff (my website is to blame for that too).

With the help of this site it has showen vanners and their vans are alive and well.

I know of at least 3 other bedford projects out there in the making;
a swb with lexus v8
an ambulance with lexus v8
a swb with ld28

just from word of mouth, and the engineer blaming me for breeding them lol (he told me about the ambulance one)

Once I've finished the custom van I hope to do two more projects, a bedford trailer for the custom van and a 6 wheeled flat deck - no idea where i'll keep them all but things happen in 3's right

I haven't seen any buga members vans while driving yet (have seen bas's and garys at home or show) but see plenty of others while driving around.

Is good to see Bedfords aren't dead, nor vanning in general

G'day

I measured a 1uz and it was too wide and too high and length was an issue too. Love to see some photos.

I too know of quite a few Bedford CF projects on the go. Its awesome. Would be great if most of them reach the owners vision. A little birdie told me of a stretched limo project happening...

I have 3 beddies :) and it's really quite motivational to look at a beddy that u have 'finished'* while your slogging your guts out on another and thinking why the f am I doing this :)

* don't know if a beddy will ever be finished lol
