Title: Bedford cab/chassis
Post by: warrenm on September 30, 2010, 09:21:04 AM
I'm doing some research before jumping in with both feet. I'm looking at the cab/chassis as a means of moving my 6 cyl LJ Torana to & from race meetings,as well as a second vehicle. I currently have a Dyna that is 600mm too short & a car trailer. Being a Holden, 6 cyl, & from the 70's/80's makes them very appealing. Which of the CF's would be the prefered model to carry the car, which weighs about 1100kg.

Hi Warren

There have been a few banana backed cab chassis on ebay recently, several were relisted

but you could start with something like THIS ONE (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Bedford-CF-LWB-Tabletop-NO-RESERVE-/190448148250?pt=AU_Trucks_Commercial_Vehicles&hash=item2c57981f1a)

How mechanically adept are you, as any vehicle of this age will require some TLC

I've been looking at this one. I'm a mechanic, so restoring a vehicle isn't much of a problem.

In my experience most mechanics have enough sense to avoid these.  ;) ;D

Sometimes you need a reason to bang your head up against a wall. :D
