Never knew there was one of these things, but keep me up to date, as sounds like a handy tool. Ben just ran it though Trade Me, nothing. Something like this http://www.customstreetrodz.co.nz/page/Tools (http://www.customstreetrodz.co.nz/page/Tools)

I have a bead roller to do that job those tama tools have their place but i have found they distort larger panels ie: side window filler panels i do use mine for smaller jobs like busy i have had mine for 10 or so years .I actually made one from a pair of pliars once worked pretty good too ;D Cheers Neil

I remember paying $99 nz for mine (would have to be close to 20 years ago), good to see prices haven't jumped much
-
I've got one & it's great as especially when one side flanges the metal and the other side punches holes in the metal you need to use thin metal or aluminium plus you need muscles on your muscles to make it work mine is about 50 years old

I was going to sell mine on e-bay but I'll have to get the wife to find it in the shed first, Craig you know what my shed is like

perhaps we need a "tools you might not have been aware of thread"
joggler, English wheels, flocking... im sure some of you older shed heads have tool knowledge we young fellas (well im bordering on old) would never hear about.
once you know the name then its a quick trip to ebay to get whatever for hardly nothing. that joggler tool for instance beats tying to cut and match large plates by miles.
-
Good idea about a tool thread as I've got stacks of tools that look like they are out of the dark ages but all have a special purpose

well it arived. looks fantastic and works just as well:)
here are some snappys:)
oh got out the venere callipers also.
without flange 1mm with flange 2.0mm so thats perfect! only thing you could hope for is it would be adjustable:( oh well cant have everything.
might have a play. it would be nice to create a flange 2mm so can stick my fibreglass panels in there without having to grind them down to 1mm!!

hey good one benny, i see it has got a spot welder punch in it as well.
george.
-
oh that for spot welds is it? man its got some grunt its awesome
-
ben thats the same one we have, works a treat.
I'm pretty sure rare spares osborne park had it on the shelf, so if anyone is keen, it may be worth calling your local rare spares for a quote
-
Hey Matte....Could you explain exactly what this tool does, is it an alternative to "butt" welding the edges together? :-\
-
John, it basically puts a step in a piece of metal, so you can sit the rust repair section on top of the step, so that it sits flush with the original metal. Then you just weld the two together and bobs your aunty
-
Also johnno, it has a hole punch in it so that if you want to spot weld the panel you can, saves mucking around with a drill, you get an nice even row of holes.
george.
