Title: Wanted SWB with Highway Diff

Hey i'm probably after the same thing as everyone else but here goes anyway

After a SWB Beddy
Auto or manual
Either overdrive or Highway diff fitted is preferable (I live in the country so 110kph is a must)
Budget of about $3000

Oh and i live in SA but i'm willing to look interstate

Hey guys thanks for the response's
I've bought a van off ebay for $999
Needs plenty of work but i'm up for a challenge
Only bummer is trucking it back to SA is going to cost more than the van itself (by $1)

I spoke to the guy who i bought it from and he said that when he bought it 3 years ago he drove it from NSW to Melbourne and "it cruised at 100kph"
So i'm guessin it has a highway diff.
Also by the looks of it, the back wheels are really tucked up under the body, also making me think there must be a highway diff in there

tell him to cut it out again. ive done 2 vans now. probably a 2 hour job to cut it out. then refit some barn doors. easy

gees you should be able to get a cheaper price than that..

i can get vans tranported to perth for that price and from melb to brisbane for $800 your only 5 hours away.

have you tryed looking for a single operator that needs to backload?

Ben, i got quotes from several companies to transport a runner for around $500-$600
As soon as you talk non runners, transport companies run and head for the hills, they don't want to know you
I ended up gettin a flatbed truck company that are used to winching non runners, caravans etc onto their truck
Also, $1000 is for door-to-door service

what does it need to be a runner? it has all the bits in it to run right. pay someone 250 bucks to get it running and your still 250 bucks ahead and have a runner when you get it home:)

doesnt need to have a running battery cause the tow companies got there own jump packs..
only the hand brake has got to work for brakes..
doesnt  even need a radiator cause it will only be run for max few mins at a time and you can leave a note on the steering wheel to say got no water 3 mins max run time:)

then get her to start and drive. if it was parked there should not be a big job ay..


an idea anyway

From the pics it looks pretty good - coming from NSW it would have to be in reasonable condition to pass the yearly road worthy inspection.

Have fun with it and dont be afraid to ask questions, people on here understand the beddiebug :)

yeh i dunno about that warren..

marias van came from nsw.. and it needed heaps of work.. i guess a lot can go wrong with a bedford in a year ay:)

Yeah everything is there to run, except the battery
I tell him if he could get it running, i'd pay more for it, as it would save me money in the end but he wasn't interested
He wanted/needed it out of his place by the end of the month for an open inspection and was not willing to do much more than load it on a flatbed truck
His loss i guess.
He was expecting the bidding to reach $2500 but i think that was always a bit optimistic
