G'day

We are getting $450/ton for batteries out here in the bush. At 50 batteries to the ton that works out at $9 each.
A few years back a mate brought 1000 batteries down from Nyngan and got 3c each for them. He didn't even cover his fuel costs. He has since died and I bet he is rolling in his grave.

John
For $107 how many beers did he get out of that esky, and are there any more in it for the next run, given I've missed the last two.
I didnt realise they would pay for crap like old tin etc.  I might see if i have a load myself.
cheers
Dave

Ha Ha..Dave thats what i keep all my tie down ropes in. If anyone nicked it they would be very disappointed to find no beers. ;D Just remember Dave you would need pretty much a ton to make it worth your while....

what a waste of perfectly good steel, you should have just used some of the steel to make a nice compact rack to hold the rest of it.. ;)

Matte
I am afraid I also keep this crap just in case, but I dont have room so it makes my yard look more crap than it is. And I will never have a use for it as I cant weld, but who knows just in case....

Hey MaTTE....Most of that stuff had been in my yard for so long that it had gone rusty.! :-\ I have to fix up the backyard so the wife and kids can enjoy the back yard again. Gotta get those brownie points on the board so i can spend some big hours on my beddie van project down the track!!! ;D ;D ;D

dont you mean you dont have the right tools to weld?

welding is easy and any 12 yr old could mig weld perfect if the settings are right so no reason why you couldnt dave:)

my first welder was a big chunky arc welder.. cost me 30 bucks.. was a buety.. why dont you keep your eyes peeled?

hey john, your inventive, lol  ;D you could of told them that you designed a scrap steel climbing castle for the kids, and as for your wife, just tell her she can plant in between the steel, tell her it's a new age structure.  ;D and when you need steel for something, just discretely remove what you need from your new age structure, if your wife queries it getting smaller, just tell her its climate change and erosion.
Yep i have time on my hands, my bloody sheet metal guy just cancelled again, so no work untill end of next week. This is his last chance, he either turns up when he says he is going to or i will find a new metal guy to finish up. As for my grill, well that is still getting done, a 1hr job has now taken 4 weeks, time to lay down the law.
