Title: Wanted
Post by: Clance on June 05, 2010, 09:07:50 AM
HI Guys N Gals,
I know this is a bit off topic/subject but I've got a hankering to do up an old F100!!
Yes I know It's not a Bedford.
So If you lovely folk happen to spot or know of a 1956 RHD Ford F100 sitting in a paddock or restored or project please let me know.

Something like this!

not a ford guy myself, but these early trucks were the bees knees. If you get one clance, make sure you keep us up to date, would love to see its progress. There is a movie coming out shortly clance, with mumbles stalone in it, and a cast of all the action heroes, brucey, big arnie and so on, called the expendables, and they are going to smash up plenty of custom 56s. The interior custom work is great, hidden gun holders, just what every action hero needs. I saw the show on how they custom built the trucks, 3 in all. 1 driver, 1 demo and 1 camera truck for those all important close ups of sly when he is pi**ed. lol  ;D it should be here this year, they are just putting the final touches to it now. Gun metal grey and lowered.
george.

I was lucky enough to go to the 56f100 nats in tennisse with the bro we went with a convoy of efys and got to drive the fr100s it was a wild trip. Got a limited edition poster signed by mc laren racing and met all the team , ended up seeing 5000 efeys in one spot.

Johnno, I used the six fan off my old red motor (initially) but i thin k I've used too much persuasion on it this time- knocked it outta wack.

This is my 1961 International AA120 4x4 dual wheel Pick-up truck that I'm going to be totally reconditioning. I have a non-rusted cab in Shepparton to collect and a real Cletus flat bed with huge wooden side gates to also collect. I have a 345 V8 (currently rebuilding) with truck gearbox and the biggest diff you've ever seen to go into it.

So I pick up the cab, get it totally resprayed, whack that on, the flat bed to be sand blasted and new redgum wood for floor and gates, I'll be router carving celtic designs into the side gates; diff to be sandblasted and painted; 345 engine installed; 2x160l gas tanks placed in under the sides, totally modernise the electrics and hardware.

Basically I'll be replacing almost everything except the chassis and front axle.

"You call that a 4x4?? THIS is a 4x4!"  ;D

We used to have a couple of the IH56 short wheelbase trucks back on the farm, they had a really sweet shape

I have been getting my boys out into the garage and away from the PS3 - thinking of a project and car for when the eldest is able to drive.

Wonder how they would go on a HQ 1 tonner chassis?
