SPENT OVER 10K
Note how easy it is to spend money getting a van going.
A mate of mine spent $25,000 putting a V8 drivetrain in his CFS. He paid to get everything done but he said if he had known how much it was going to cost he wouldn't have started.
-
25,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and let me guess you paid $3,000 for the van chris? lol
yeh dont pay someone to do it!
but now i have a v8 van im not going back to the 6! im getting just as good fuel econ and a lot more power! and a lot more sound out the exhaust!
now ive played with V8's they are the way to go.
i recon i could get vans engineered for $600.. i know what the engineer wants now, pretty cool.

yeah, counting the LPG i´ve spent about 10 grand and it´s still a piece of sh1t

me, I got lucky, $2300 for the tow van, reco 253, 4 speed, disc front, engineers report LPG, 9" and wheels off the camper, spent another $400 so far and can spend another $1000 easily (flash wheels and rebuild a diff) which I won't. Be patient have the cash ready and strike when a good van becomes available, most I've paid for a beddie is $3000 (327 chev, turbo 400 & 9", custom body work) there are bargains but it is becoming harder with lots of buyers watching Ebay and the like, twas much easier when beddies were sold word of mouth, keep your eyes and ears open and be prepared to travel at short notice swoop. ;)

ben
No, it was a V8.
The van sold into Sydney for $5000, was repainted canary yellow, and used as a work truck.
