You wouldn't though would you? ???

A few years ago I planned a trip up to the top of the NT. So I bought a brand new boat and a brand new VT POS. I made it from Brisbane to the Toowoomba range before the engine let go. A few days later I tried again with a brand new replacement only to make it to some where around Winton before suffering the almost the same melt down. A week or so later the trip was attempted again with a brand new AU Falcon with Ticford motor. 6600ks up and back no problem what so ever. I will never own a Holden again  :( I didn't loose out on any money on this lesson, but it was mega stressful holiday :-\

The warranty wasn't very helpful at the time. They wanted to repair/replace the engine which meant I was going to be without a care for a month or have a loan car which I couldn't take out of the state. I had to get legal council before they exchanged the car the first time and took a bit more legal action the second time to get my money back.
The ford dealer ship was a little shocked/worried when I asked for them to sign a contract stating they would replace the car or refund funds if I encountered the same situation.

My family has had a lot of earlier holdens in the past without such a problem. I think the ecotec motors have just been pushed to much past what they were really designed for.

Yeah dealerships can be pricks if you let them push you around.

I had a similar problem with the falcon I mentioned. After 30000ks I started hearing a knocking noise when I went around right hand bends. I told Ford to fix the problem but they couldn't find what it was so it was back and forward every week wasting my time. Turned out just to be a warn out bush on a trailing arm.
